How engraving actually works, since nobody explains it
None of these listings offers engraving. That is the practical fact the search results do not tell you: you buy the pen, then take it to a jeweler, a trophy shop or an online engraving service, and they cut the name into the barrel. Budget a few days and a modest extra cost.
What matters when choosing is the surface. A chrome or brass barrel engraves cleanly and the mark lasts; a plated finish can show brass at the edges of deep cuts, which is normal rather than a defect. Plastic and resin barrels cannot be engraved properly at all - they can be laser-marked, which looks like printing rather than engraving.

What to put on it
