Privacy Policy
Short, because this site does very little with data. No accounts, no newsletter, no advertising network.
The short version
Ink & Indent has no user accounts, no newsletter, no comment system and no advertising network. The only personal data we ever receive is what you type into the contact form, and the only tracking is aggregate analytics.
What we collect
The contact form
If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you type are emailed to us so we can reply. They are not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared with anyone. We keep the email as long as the conversation is useful and no longer.
The form also records how long the page was open before submission and your IP address for a short window, purely to block automated spam. That IP record expires within an hour and is never used to build a profile of you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked, in aggregate. This sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data to Google. We use it to decide what to write next, not to identify individuals, and we do not upload any personal identifiers to it.
You can opt out with a browser extension, an ad blocker, or your browser’s tracking protection. The site works normally without it.
Affiliate links
When you click a buy button you pass through a link on this domain and are redirected to the retailer with a tracking parameter attached. That parameter tells the retailer the visit came from us so a commission can be credited. It carries no information about you.
Once you arrive at the retailer, that site’s privacy policy applies, not ours. The mechanics are set out on the affiliate disclosure.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, passwords or profiles — there is nothing to sign in to.
- No newsletter list. We do not have one.
- No payment information. We never handle a transaction; the retailer does.
- No comment system, and therefore no user-generated content to store.
- No advertising network, retargeting pixels or data brokers. We do not sell or share data with anyone.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics ones described above. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking pixels. Blocking cookies does not break anything here.
Hosting and log data
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses and request details for operational and security purposes. That is ordinary infrastructure logging rather than something we query about individuals.
Children
This site is written for adults buying gifts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only thing we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. Write to info@inkandindent.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially the date at the top of the page will change with it. We will not make it quietly more permissive.
