The short version

Ink & Indent is reader supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and buy something, we receive a commission from the retailer. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not out of your pocket.

Ink & Indent is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Amazon is currently the only retailer we have an affiliate relationship with. If that changes we will name the new networks here.

How to spot an affiliate link

• Every buy button on this site carries #ad beneath it, along with a link back to this page.
• Every page that recommends a product carries a funding notice above the first buy button, not buried at the bottom.
• Outbound commercial links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow" in the page source, which is what Google asks publishers to do with paid links.
• Buy buttons route through a /go/ link on this domain before reaching the retailer. That is how we count clicks; it does not change where you end up or what you pay.

What the commission does not change

This is the part that matters and it is worth being specific.

• It does not decide which products we pick. Products are chosen on published specifications, and the method is written out on how we pick.
• It does not decide the ranking. Commission rates vary between products and we do not consult them when ordering a list. Where a cheaper product is the better buy, it goes first.
• It does not stop us saying something is wrong for you. Every pick carries a “skip this if” line, and some of them talk readers out of the purchase entirely.
• No brand has paid for a placement. Nobody has given us money to appear here, and nobody has sent us a product. If either ever happens, it will be labeled on the page it affects.

About the prices

Prices shown on this site come from the retailer and are stamped with the date they were checked. When our data is more than 48 hours old the number is hidden and the button reads “Check price” instead, because a stale price is worse than no price.

Prices change constantly and the retailer’s page is always the authority. We do not set prices, hold stock, or handle any part of your order — when you click through, you are buying from the retailer under their terms, their returns policy and their warranty.

What we are not

We are not the merchant. We do not publish shipping terms or return policies for these products in our structured data, because those are the retailer’s terms to state and not ours to assert. We have also not tested any of these products, which is disclosed on how we pick and on every recommendation page.
